Summer School

Summer School (July 16 through August 24)

Academic Programs at AIS are designed to enhance, enrich and support students in the following subjects (English, Arabic, and French for beginners and intermediate levels) as well as Mathematics and Science. Students will be evaluated and assessed in order to establish the appropriate academic level of each child. Classes will be tailored and limited to small groups in order to accommodate the individual needs of the students.

The summer program will take place on the school campus except for the days of excursions.  This year A.I.S. will be introducing a new program with activities and excursions which will take place in the afternoon and during the weekends.

Boarding facilities at A.I.S. will be offered to students requesting such services.

Enrollment is open for the summer program beginning April 1st 2007. A non-refundable reservation fee of $200 is required for day students and $1000 for boarding students. This deposit will be deducted from the total fee at the time of the payment settlement (no later than June 15th, 2007).

Programs and Fees:
1) 6 weeks academic program, beginning Monday, July 16th and ending Thursday, August 24th.
The focus will be on 2 specific subjects: for example, Math and English.

The cost for this program is US$ 800 for two subjects, or US$ 450 for one subject.

Sessions will commence at 9:00am until 2:00pm, Monday through Thursday.

2) 6 weeks activities and trips program, beginning Monday, July 16th and ending Thursday, August 24th.
4 p.m. – 10 p.m. Monday? Thursday
11 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. Friday? Saturday
11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday

This program includes activities and trips such as:
• waterpark
•beach and swimming
• boat rides
• karting
• hiking
• biking
• physical fitness
• self-defense
• shopping
• sightseeing
• camping
• basketball
• soccer
• volleyball
• billiards
• bowling
• baby-foot
• movies
• concerts
• theme parks
• etc.

The fee of this program is $ 2000 for 6 weeks and $ 1200 for 3 weeks.
The fee covers the following:
• One meal: Monday ? Thursday
• Two meals: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Transportation Fees
• All entertainment and entrance fees excluding theme parks, concerts, personal items and specialty foods

3) 6 weeks (on campus) activities program, beginning Monday, July 16th and ending Thursday, August 24th . Activities run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday and include the following:
• physical fitness
• art
• dancing
• volleyball
• soccer
• basketball
• wall climbing
• self-defense
The cost of this program is US$ 350.

Note: A student may choose to do summer homework for half the time and activities for the other half for the same cost.

4) 6 weeks academic / activities program, beginning Monday, July 16th and ending Thursday, August 24th . The program begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday and includes one academic subject and one or more of the activities listed in program number (3).
The cost of this program is US$ 575.

5) Individualized programs, beginning Monday, July 16th will be designed for a duration of one week or more and up to six weeks. These programs will be developed to deal with academic and recreational areas and may include one on one instruction and/or activity and trips programs.
The cost of this program ranges from US$ 500 to US$ 3000.

Transportation:
The school provides transportation to all areas. Transportation fees will be paid along
with Summer School fees and are dependent on the location. Transportation services are not provided for students registered for one subject.

Snacks:
A preset menu will be offered at the beginning of the session. The snack fee is not included within the total Summer Program cost.

Boarding Students:
The Boarding fee for the summer session is US$ 1000 for THREE WEEKS and US$ 2000 for SIX WEEKS and includes the cost of full meals, snacks, transportation to and from school, additional afternoon and weekend programs, laundry services, hospitalization and accident insurance. (Does not include meals out of boarding, entry fees, and personal expenses).

Note: Program fees and Boarding fees are non-refundable for any reason.
